Winter Wellness: Stay Healthy and Happy
It seems Winter is here (according to the teeth chattering and “brrrrs” heard about town), and with it comes the challenges of staying healthy in body, mind and soul in the cold and dark months. But don’t worry, we have some great tips and services to help you enjoy the Winter season AND boost your wellness.
Why Winter Wellness Matters
Winter can affect your health and mood in many ways. Some of the common winter health issues are:
– Dry skin, lips, and hair due to low humidity, indoor heating and travel.
– Respiratory infections, allergies, and asthma due to cold air, viruses, and dust mites.
– Seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a type of depression that occurs during the winter months due to reduced sunlight and shorter days. Those of us in the PNW know this well.
– Weight gain, fatigue, and stress due to lack of physical activity, comfort eating, and holiday pressure.
These winter health issues can lower your immunity and affect your quality of life. That’s why it’s important to embrace winter wellness and adopt some healthy.
