From the late 1980's to 1996 Janice worked as an independent contractor for Gold's Gym in Portland Oregon. The business known as Motion Management which had offices in a number of gyms throughout the city offered services of massage therapy that focused on injury, rehab and sports massage. In addition she taught and lectured on fitness, nutrition, motivation and personal athletic training.

In 1996 Janice and her husband Mike Ehlen made Manzanita their home, since then Janice has had a successful private massage and wellness consulting practice. In the winter of 07-08 it is with great pride and passion that Janice presents Spa Manzanita - a full service day with emphasis on health, wellness and personalized services.

Judy Hathaway BS - Licensed Massage Therapist

Judy is a well-grounded therapist with over 30 years of personal study in meditation, nature and healing. She received her massage training from the Oregon School of Massage and was licensed in 1997, focusing on traditional Chinese medicine, and is a Reiki II initiate. Judy says, "My goal in massage is to enhance the flow of ch'i (natural healing energy) through focused bodywork and energy balancing. I incorporate elements of Shiatsu, Polarity, Reiki and Acupressure into every massage."

In addition, Judy is a specialist in Acutonics - a system of sound healing that uses tuning forks and singing bowls to direct sound vibration into meridian points, trigger points and other points of pain. This treatment corrects the imbalances in the body's electrical/energetic system, producing profound results in treating a variety of physical and emotional conditions. This results in a body that is able to better heal itself and maintain health by allowing the body's natural healing energy to circulate freely.

Judy has been an Oregon resident since 1960 and a Manzanita resident since 2007. When not in the massage room, you will find her walking her dog on the beach or playing with her watercolors or a knitting project.

Dana Grant
Spa coordinator

Dana was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Her life's journey has taken her from Washington, Alaska, and now beautiful Oregon. She moved from a busy city life to the Oregon Coast to raise her girls in a smaller community and be closer to all of nature's wonders. She brings with her over 20 years of Customer Service and prides herself in doing what ever possible to ensure that her customers are satisfied with their experience.

Dana is the proud mother of Ryann, 5, and Megan, 12. She's a strong advocate for children and all with developmental disabilities. She enjoys the surf, long walks on the beach, the sun as it changes the colors of the world early in the morning and then again as it says good night, and hiking Neahkahnie Mountain.

Deb joined spa manzanita in September 08. Having once lived right on Laneda Ave as a child, she is very excited about her return to Manzanita after a 40 year absence.

She received her training at East West College of Healing Arts in Portland , OR and has special interest in Chinese Medicine and Thai Massage.

Deb has been gifted with the talent of highly tuned energy/intuitive healing work. Spa Manzanita is better place having Deb on the team.

Trish Bush

Trish has lived in Texas, Hawaii, Oregon, California and Washington. Retiring from the transportation industry in 2004, after the birth of her daughter KiLee. Trish and her family moved to the Oregon Coast to live a more wholesome and grounded lifestyle. Trish has two daughters Alexandria, 13 {below) and KiLee, 5 (left). There is no other place Trish would rather call home than Oregon's North Coast.

Trish has studied self hypnosis, nutrition, body building and alternative healing techniques. Believing in respect for all things, Trish and her family are loving their life on the coast. Keepin' it green! Grateful to be part of such a wonderful community.

Trish has thirty one years professional experience in purchasing, sales, accounting, transportation, operations and administration.

• 2006 Completed and intensive in Hawaiian Lomi Lomi while living in Maui
• 2007 Studied Ho 'Pono Pono with Dr Maka Ala Yates DC. Ho Pono Pono is all about achieving balance and harmony and putting it into our work and daily lives
• Recently I have received my Level One and Level Two Reiki from The International Center for Reiki Training. The lineage of my Reiki Training is from Dr Mikao Usui. Reiki is a form of Energy work from Japan that uses Life Force Energy on subtle levels and can alleviate stress, fatigue, pain and depression. It also can free blocks in our chi and heals each one of chakras or energy centers.

With a blend of these modalities my goal and passion is to provide thorough and effective massage unique for each of client.

For the past 17 years Gul has operated a private practice in Eugene Oregon.

Gul has spent years studying and working in the Physical Therapy aspect of soft tissue work. She specializes in Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Injury Management and Chronic Pain Assessment.

In addition to her work with people she is a Licensed Equestrian Therapist.

Sherri has a genuine compassion for helping people find peace and balance. Her diverse background of more than 20 years in medical and business industries has given her hands-on experience of the daily stressors that cause imbalance in the body. Her desire to lead a healthier, stress-free life led her to spa manzanita where she found true relief from massage.

Soon after she became coordinator at the spa and was inspired to help others feel better as well. Sherri entered the alternative health care field of massage where she enjoys the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life to find peace and relieve chronic muscle pain derived from stress. Sherri is a graduate of East-West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon.
